A Bit About Me

From Jung, C.G., (2009). The Red Book, p. 131.  W.W. Norton and Company.

Background and Education:

Originally from Youngstown, OH, I completed my Bachelors Degree in Psychology at Ohio University in Athens, OH in 1998.  I earned my doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA in 2010.  While at Duquesne, I immersed myself in Existential Phenomenology and Analytical Psychology, and I have received significant training and supervision in both approaches.  In 2007-08, I completed an internship for the State of Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services where I conducted psychotherapy and assessment in a community outpatient clinic and in a state forensic institution for individuals ruled Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity.  I am licensed as a Clinical Psychologist in the state of Pennsylvania (License Number : PS017088).

My experience expands 14 years, and I have worked with individuals from ages 4-90 in outpatient, inpatient, residential, and forensic settings. I am comfortable working with children and adults and with most any types of presenting concerns.

Professional Interests

My major interests are twofold.  I am interested in Jungian and post-Jungian theory and psychotherapy.  In particular, I am interested in the dialogue between Analytical Psychology and Phenomenology, Jung’s notion of synchronicity and its applications for psychotherapy, and advocacy for depth psychology in outpatient, inpatient, and forensic settings.

I am also passionate about psychological assessment, particularly Fischer’s Collaborative Assessment and Finn’s Therapeutic Assessment approaches to working with clients.  I have presented extensively and have published articles on Collaborative Assessment.  Another assessment passion of mine is the Rorschach.  I am interested in developing a more structurally and theoretically sound understanding of Rorschach scoring and interpretation that is grounded in qualitative research and human experience.
